School Closure Notice – Monday, October 27, 2025

Due to a water line break affecting Hampshire High School and Romney Middle School, both schools will be closing today.
Students will be dismissed at 8:00 AM, and buses will run return routes at that time.

All other Hampshire County Schools are operating on a normal schedule.
Thank you for your understanding as crews work to restore service.

If you’ve failed two or more classes needed for graduation, this is your chance to catch up and stay on track. Staff will report for a Curriculum Day on Monday, March 17. Students do not have school.

Students entering 12th grade for 2025-2026 school year are required to have a 2nd Meningitis vaccine. The Health Department will be at H.H.S. on March 27th and April 29th to give vaccines with parent/guardian consent. Forms will be sent home with those students who need the shot or are available from the school nurse.

Hampshire High School only will be virtual today due to not enough staff to cover classes. HHS students should complete assignments on Schoology. All other schools are open and those students should attend school as usual.

Hampshire County Schools will hold two public hearings to collect comments on the 2025-2026 school calendar as required by West Virginia code. The first hearing will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Romney Middle School and the second hearing will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 6:30 pm at the central office in Romney. If for any reasons these meetings are cancelled due to inclement weather, then the calendar hearing will be held whenever the meeting is rescheduled.
