2011

J. Holland and Anita Rannells

  • Made the Rannells Sports Complex a reality

  • Donated the first and largest amount for the Hampshire High School (HHS) stadium that bears their name

  • Purchased the first lights for the football field 

  • At the forefront in building the baseball diamond.

2012

Ralph "Bud" Nealis - RHS Class of 1937 

  • Most loyal fan of Hampshire County Athletics

  • 4-year starter on the Pioneer Football team 

  • 1936 All-Potomac Valley and Honorable Mention West Virginia All-State Team 

  • As owner of the Romney Rexall gave milkshakes to athletes 

  • Always "predicted" the scores of the football games in favor of Hampshire County teams 

  • Died following a Hampshire High School (HHS) football game at Keyser in 1984 

2013

  • Supporter of Hampshire County athletic and individual awards and funding since 1944

2014

Dr. Harold (Butch) C. Carl II - RHS Class of 1953 

  • Active advocate for athletics and education in Hampshire County

  • Hampshire County Superintendent of Schools (1972 to 1983) 

  • Outstanding athlete at RHS: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track 

  • Athlete at Shepherd College: Football, Baseball 

  • Coach: John S. Mosby Academy (Football) Stonewall Jackson High School (Football Track) 

  • Author of a book "They're With You Win or Tie"

2015

Howard Cannon - HHS Class of 1966 

  • His firm, Howard Cannon Excavation Company, donated $50,000 of work in one week to build the Trojans baseball diamond - then considered one of the nicest fields in the Eastern Panhandle (included workers: Terry Shingleton Norman Wilson Glen Pyles Eric Tingler) 

2016

John Corbin - RHS Class of 1959

  • Coached in Hampshire County Little League for more than 40 years

  • His Cubs teams had 4 undefeated Little League seasons 

  • Long-time champion bowler 

  • Placed 7th in the ABC National Tournament in Reno out of 104,000 bowlers - 1977 

  • Won Gold Medal (and led all bowlers - 1,717 pins in 8 games) with Team USA in the Pan-American Games - 1977  

2017

Kevin Iser - HHS Class of 1988

  • Loyal fan, supporter and announcer since graduation

  • Now the "Voice of the Trojans" on radio for every football game since 2011 

  • Attended every football game for 17 years in a row 

  • Before moving to the radio, announced football and basketball games live at Hampshire High School (HHS) Coached Biddy Buddy for many years

2023

William "Bill" Roomsburt - RHS & HHS Teacher - was a 1950 graduate of Capon Bridge High School

RHS

  • Began teaching at RHS in 1954, tranferred to HHS in 1964 when it opened and retired in 1990

  • At RHS, he maintained Cooper Field with ground prep, lime fertilizer and seeding.

  • Also at RHS, he replaced the wooden goal posts with galvanized steels ones, built a privacy fence on School Street, upgraded the boys' locker room, sanded & painted the basketball floor and rebuilt the basebell field at its current location.

  • In addition he ran the clock for home basketball games and drove the team bus for away games.

HHS

  • He helped prepare Rannell's field a year before the opening of HHS by clearing rocks and then seeding & mulching the field.

  • While at HHS, he built the concession stand at the HHS football field, helped install the PA system at the field and replaced bleacher boards.

  • He also led various upgrades to the athletic locker rooms.

  • For years he oversaw ticket sales and also directed car parking for athletic events.

  • He built high and low hurdles for the track competitions.

  • It was also mentioned that he actually made the podium used by the speakers at the HOF banquet.
